Danny Young is an independent expert witness, trainer and consultant specialising in the criminal use and trafficking of firearms. He is the Director of Proof Mark Consulting Ltd.

Danny is a Certified Member of the Expert Witness Institute.

Danny retired from the Metropolitan Police Service in 2026 as a Detective Chief Inspector after 30 years' service specialising in firearms investigations.

Danny was the Metropolitan Police Service lead on the provision of firearms expert evidence for 5 years.

Danny is an experienced Level 3 qualified trainer. He has delivered firearms expert training to officers from the National Crime Agency, the Metropolitan Police Service and other forces from across the country.
